About
Karin Weatherup
After youth work with inner-city children trapped
by poverty, low expectations and sometimes abuse, Karin Weathrup
decided that she ‘wanted to change the world at least
a little bit’.
She went on to become press and public relations officer at
the Muscular Dystrophy Group, then started her career as a
writer at the agency group Burnett Associates. Now, 15 years
later, she is creative director at communications agency Burnett
Works. During that time she has worked for around one hundred
not-for-profit clients and produced many award-winning communications,
including the famous Amnesty ‘pen’ pack. But her
aim has remained the same, ‘To inspire people, in the
same way those kids did for me, to want to do something practical
to help.’ |
